Known Plugin Incompatibilities and Conflicts

This is a list of plugins that we know do not work well with Awesome Support.  Some of them have minor incompatibilities while others are major.  Awesome Support will not completely break with most of them but you will likely find some edge cases or annoying issues that you have to work around.

Plugins

Most YITH plugins:  These plugins might use an older version of the SELECT2 library that is incompatible with the latest version that we use.  So, please test with the Free Version of Awesome Support before purchasing a premium add-on.  You can use our SELECT2 settings in TICKETS->SETTINGS->ADVANCED to try to see if that helps.

BB-PRESS: Incompatible – Awesome Support will exhibit unexpected behavior when installed with BB-PRESS.

BUDDYPRESS: Incompatible – Awesome Support will exhibit unexpected behavior when installed with BB-PRESS.

Post Types Order and Advanced Post Types Order  This plugin attempts to resort all custom post types.  This messes up the sorting on our ticket screen among other things.  In fact, any plugin that indiscriminately changes the sort order of a custom post type will not work with Awesome Support.

EASY SMTP: At least one user has reported that Awesome Support’s emails are not being delivered when this plugin is installed.  Use Mailgun or Sendgrid instead. You can also use the POST SMTP plugin or the WP MAIL SMTP plugin as alternatives.

WP SMTP: At least one user has reported that Awesome Support’s emails are not being delivered when this plugin is installed.  Use Mailgun or Sendgrid instead.  You can also use the POST SMTP plugin or the WP MAIL SMTP plugin as alternatives.

PIKLIST Framework: At least one user has reported that the PIKLIST framework generates http 500 errors on their site when enabled with Awesome Support

DOKAN LITE:  Multi-vendor plugins for WC generally do weird things.  While we have it installed on our test servers and it seems to run fine, other customers have reported that it does not (most likely related to other multi-vendor add-ons that complement DOKAN).

CQPIM: This is a small project management plugin sold on Envato.  Users have reported that special steps have to be taken to make sure that the permissions required for users need to be manually merged into the permissions required for Awesome Support.  Please make sure you install the free version of Awesome Support and test your permissions with CQPIM before making a purchase on our site.

WP Job Manager – EMAILS:  At least one customer has reported that this plugin dequeues the heartbeat.js script which causes our GRAVITY FORMS bridge to not load its admin screen.

WordPress WooCommerce MPAY24 Payment Plugin:  At least one customer has reported that this plugin does not work with Awesome Support installed.  You should use the free version of Awesome Support to test compatibility before making a premium purchase on our site.

The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe:  This plugin uses a very old version of SELECT2.  This is one of the few where you’ll have to choose either our plugin or theirs but cannot run both simultaneously.

Gonzalez: Depending on how this site optimization plugin is configured, it can result in  corrupted .zip files when users export their data.  However, admins can use the built-in WordPress PERSONAL DATA EXPORTER to create a PDF export instead as a workaround.  Or temporarily disable Gonzalez when exporting .zip files for users.

Themes

AVADA:  Some prior versions of this theme also use an older version of the SELECT2 javascript library.  Please check to make sure you’re using the latest version and then check our TICKET->SETTINGS->ADVANCED tab to force Awesome Support to load the FULL version of the SELECT2 library (which is what AVADA needs)

DIVI:  This theme tries to do a lot of things simultaneously but in the process makes little adjustments and mistakes that step on EVERYTHING.  While we’ve tried to create a compatibility layer to work with it, every new version creates new issues that are simply impossible to work around.  So, while officially we don’t support this theme, we do try to make it work whenever we can.  In fact, we use it on this site!  Just realize that there MIGHT be some edge cases where we are unable to resolve compatibility issues – at which point you’ll just have to petition the DIVI group for a fix/tweak.

ALLIANCE THEME – THEMEREX:  This theme does weird things with custom post types and does not allow our tickets to be displayed properly on the front end.  Instead it routes the ticket requests to a 404 page.  While we have only seen this reported with their ALLIANCE theme it is possible other themes from them are affected since they all use the same framework.  Please make sure you thorougly test any THEMEREX theme with the free version of Awesome Support before making a purchase on our site!

H-Code Theme – Themezaa:  As with the Alliance Theme listed above, this theme does weird things to the custom post types that prevent the ticket replies from displaying properly on the back-end.  While we have only seen this with the H-Code theme, it is possible that other themes from Themezaa will exhibit the same issue since they likely use the same foundation code for all their themes.  Please make sure you thorougly test any Themeza theme with the free version of Awesome Support before making a purchase on our site!

Please make sure you download and install the FREE version of Awesome Support from WordPress.org and verify that it works properly in your installation before making a purchase from our site.

Groupwise:  We’ve seen issues at one customer with Groupwise mailboxes.  So we would recommend that the support email inbox be a non-Groupwise mailbox.
